Degreaser For Stain Removal

Stains and spill on bare concrete can be a real problem. Not only because the spill can soak into the concrete, leaving a dark stain and making it hard to clean, but also contaminate the substrate which can pose a problem if you are wanting to apply a sealer.

In many situations, trying to clean stains and contaminates from concrete through the use of pressure cleaning and household cleaning products, rarely gives the desired result.

Bare concrete is a highly porous substrate, which allows liquids and oils to quickly soak deep into the surface where it settles and creates an unsightly stain.

For this reason, the use of a specialist cleaning product that can break down and extract the substance from within the concrete is required.

This is where our Base Coatings HD Degreaser 950 is the ideal solution.

HD Degreaser 950 has been designed to be use on a wide range of hard surfaces where it can attack and remove tough stains from things like oil, food spills, dirt and grime.

It also makes an excellent choice for the preparation of concrete prior to the application of a sealer.

For use on general stains, the product can be Diluted to 1 part HD Degreaser 950 with 10 parts water and applied over the area to be treated. It is recommended to work the solution into the surface with a stiff bristle brush while still wet.

Once the desired dwell time has been achieved, a pressure washer can be used to remove waste residue from the surface. This should be done at a shallow angle to avoid pushing oils and stains back into the porous surfaces.

For heavy staining and oil patches, it is recommended to apply HD Degreaser 950 neat over the effected area, and scrub vigorously with a stiff brush until a thick foam develops. Then rinse off with a small amount of hot water and scrub area again, before hosing area clean.
